Antique Forehand & Wadsworth Model Double Action

.38 S&W caliber revolver with a 4" barrel. S/N 43298. Made in the USA, c. 1887.

The bore is in fair condition, clean with some pitting. The nickel finish is in fair to good condition with the muzzle end of the barrel worn to bare metal. The balance of the finish shows some dings and scratches, but no significant rust. The checkered plastic grips are in very good condition showing light wear. Action works fine.

Forehand & Wadsworth was an American firearms manufacturing company based in Worcester Massachusetts. It was formed in 1871 by Sullivan Forehand and Henry C. Wadsworth after the death of their father-in-law, Ethan Allen of Ethan Allen & Company, and was acquired in 1902 by Hopkins & Allen, a firearms company based in Connecticut.
